When you're expecting, there is so much to do. We hope to help you by providing a simple
list of "must haves" for everyone's hospital bags. Be sure and pack them early! You never
know when the little one will make their appearance!
Also, get that car seat ready! You must have your car seat properly installed before you can
take your baby home!

| Mom's Bag | |
- Insurance Card or Information
- Birth Plan
- Bathrobe and Slippers (The gowns the hospital
provides just do not do the trick! You certainly want something to cover
your bottom while walking down the halls! Be sure not to take your
nicest robe and slippers. They may get stained.)
- Socks (You'll need something to keep your feet
warm!)
- Pillows
- Tennis Ball or other massaging tool
- Music (This will help create the environment
you want.)
- Lip Balm (Your lips may become very chapped.)
- Toiletries (Toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush,
scrunchies, shampoo, deodorant, scented lotion, makeup if desired)
- Hard Candy (Sugarless preferably - they will
not make you as thirsty)
- Focal Object (If this is something you would
like to use during labor)
- Bras (Bring at least two of the size you are
wearing now. You may need nursing pads too.)
- Sanitary Napkins (The hospital may provide
these, but you may prefer your own.)
- Nightgown (Once again, you don't want to wear
anything too nice, unless it is okay to get stains on it.)
- Loose Clothes (Unfortunately, you won't leave the hospital at your pre-pregnancy weight. Clothes that fit you at about your six month of pregnancy should do just fine.)

| Dad's Bag | |
- Camera or Camcorder (Don't forget extra film
and batteries)
- Change of Clothes
- Phone List (Prepare this ahead of time. You
don't want to forget anyone!)

This may help with phone calls too.)
- Phone Card (If necessary)
- Food (Try to have something that doesn't have
strong odors.)
- Toiletries (Toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush,
deodorant, etc.)
- Headache Medicine (Just in case he gets a
tension headache. The hospital is not always willing to provide this to
him.)
- Books or Magazines
- Your Baby's Book (If you provide this to the
nurses they might be able to stamp your baby's feet prints in it! You
could also spend some time filling it out while at the hospital.)
- Pen and Paper
- Bottle of Champagne or Sparkling Cider for
celebrating
- Wallet (Parking isn't always free!)

| Baby's Bag | |

- Cap or hat
- Sweater
- Receiving Blanket
- Diapers (Just in case!)
- Two Take Me Home Outfits (Bring one in two
different sizes. You may be surprised by your baby's weight!)
- Pacifier (if you're planning to use one)
